Scientific name : Flabellina rubrolineata


Very common Aeolidacea, with elongate cerata, body with 3 red-purple longitudinal lines, 1 median and 2 at sides. The body and cerata coloration is highly variable, from white to red and violet, as it can be seen in the pictures. 4 cm. All the Flabellina species, very small nudibranchs, can be confused easily. F. rubrolineata is identified by the 3 longitudinal lines along the body. Like in other Flabellina species, the

nematocysts of the preys (hydroids) are stored into the cerata (in which blind tracts of the intestines are), and used as defense against predators.

Associated organisms
With Eudendrium and Halocordyle hydroids, its food.
