Eudistoma reginum
Scientific name : Eudistoma reginum
Colonial ascidian with a thick purple tunic. The zooids are arranged in circle and inserted into craters on the colony surface. Present along the external reef, in overhanging walls and caves.
Easy to distinguish due to shape and colour.
The purple form is typical of Bunaken Marine Park. Other forms, brown or orange, may belong to the same species.
