Dot-and-dash butterflyfish

Scientific name : Chaetodon pelewensis

This fish (maximum length: 12,5 cm) shows a very peculiar coloration: the background color is pale, with a yellow zone on its sides; small spots can be seen above anything, which coalesce to form black diagonal stripes on the yellow patch. The caudal peduncle is orange.
It feeds on coral polyps and small invertebrates. It's monogamous. Adults can be usually seen in pairs, but the juveniles are solitary.
Very similar to Chaetodon punctatofasciatus, which has vertical stripes, never diagonal.
It can adapt rather easily to tank life.
