Disc anemone shrimp

Scientific name : Pliopontonia furtiva


Oval, flattened body, transparent with white bands, white and yellow spots. White and yellow banded legs and claws. 2 cm.
Only species in its genus, easily identified by the shape.

Associated organisms
The only Pontoniinae species associated with corallimorpharian anthozoans (disc anemones), like Discosoma, Rhodactis, Amplexidiscus fenestrafer (in our photos).


Habitat: Reef external slope, Reef front

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
