Devil ray

Scientific name : Mobula mobular


It can be quite large (up to 5,2 metres of wingspan). Their mouth is placed on the ventral side, not on the front, as in many other mantas. The back is dark, their belly is white with random black spots. It also has a caudal sting.
It feeds on plankton and small fish.
It can be found in the Mediterranean basin, but also along the Portuguese, Senegalese and Canarian coasts.
