Decorator crab

Scientific name : Cyclocoeloma tuberculata


Small decorator crab, carapace densely covered with tubercles, to whom soft corals, anemones, ascidians are fixed. Relatively short legs, with 2 black bands on each segment and dark spots. Carapace lenght 5 cm.
Identified from other decorator crabs by the banding on the legs and by the Discosoma cover.

Associated organisms
Usually covered with soft corals, tunicates and typically with disc anemones (Discosoma spp.)


Habitat: Back reef, Reef external slope, Reef front

Distribution: Western Pacific
