Crown urchin

Scientific name : Prionocidaris verticillata

Large spined urchin, each spine have regularly spaced swellings like spiny crowns. Test diameter 5 cm.
Living in the back reef, during the day under corals or rubble. Active at night.
The crownes spines are distinctive toward Phyllacanthus imperialis and Heterocentrotus mammillatus.
