Compass jellyfish

Scientific name : Chrysaora hysoscella


Large jellyfish, it may reach a maximum diameter of thirty centimetres; the umbrella is flattened, orange or brown in colour, fading towards the edge and with evident darker cloves. The manubrium is long, with fringed edges, white and orange; the twenty-four marginal tentacles, white in colour, are long and very thin.


Habitat: Coastal bay, Open sea, Sea

Distribution: East Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea
