Colonial polycarpa

Scientific name : Polycarpa contecta


Species living in aggregations of solitary individuals, sometimes very tightly packed. Brown-orange siphon. Living in dense groups along the external reef.
Polycarpa nigricans, Indo-Pacific species, has blackish siphons. Often found as fouling on boats or shipwrecks.

Associated organisms
Often associated with different gorgonian species.

Distribution: Western Pacific
