Chromodoris kuniei

Scientific name : Chromodoris kuniei

Beautiful Chromodoris, brown yellowish in colour, with black spots each one purple edged, also purple mantle border. 5 cm. In our area confusion is possible with Chromodoris leopardus, from which is separated by shape and colour of the spots (filled, round and with a purple edge).
A certain similitude also with Risbecia tryoni, the latter has black spots with white edge. The general body shape is also different, (R. tryoni is higher, C. kuniei more flattened).
Other very similar species live in different areas (for example Chromodoris geminus and C. tritos of Indian Ocean).
