Chimaera

Scientific name : Holocephali

The subclass Holocephali belongs to the class of the cartilaginous fishes, and the Chimaeriformes (the only still existing group within this subclass) share many features with them.
They mostly live in temperate ocean floor, and can grow to remarkable sizes. Unlike sharks, their skin is smooth, lacking placoid scales.
