Ceratosoma tenue

Scientific name : Ceratosoma tenue


Very long tail, the mantle has a curly shape behind and over the gills, and side expansions where glands producing repellent substances are concentrated. Colour orange-red with yellow spots, purple-blue edge of mantle and rhinophores. 10 cm. Confusion is possible with other Ceratosoma species, that we did never observe in our area.

Associated organisms
With its food sponge. Also observed in association with the commensal shrimp Periclimenes imperator.


Habitat: Lagoon, Sand

Distribution: Indo-Pacific
