Bluespotted grouper

Scientific name : Cephalopholis cyanostigma


This fish (maximum length: 40,0 cm) shows a color change grom juveniles to adults, beginning its life with a brown-purplish body with yellow dorsal, anal and caudal fin to a brown uniform background color with brighter bars and blotches and many blue spots on the whole body.
It lives in shallow and sheltered reefs, seagrass beds and coral-rich areas. it feeds on crustaceans and fish.
