Blue spot sea squirt

Scientific name : Clavelina cf. moluccensis


Small social ascidian, zooids shorter than 1 cm, variable colour from pale blue to purple. Often a blue pigment is concentrated in spots in the siphons area.
Blue color can recall Rhopalaea spp., a solitary ascidian but can aggregate, it is larger and more uniform in colour.

Associated organisms
In North Sulawesi seas often observed on dead stems of bleck coral.
