Black coral pandalid shrimp

Scientific name : Miropandalus hardingi

Strange pandalid, more similar to a palaemonide. Elongted body, covered with large spines, brown-greenish colour (matching the host's colour), short rostrum, short legs, and claws almost undistinguishable from the true legs. 1.5 cm. At a first glance it can recall a black coral commensal palaemonidae (Pontonides, Dasycaris), but it is more elongated and spiny.

Associated organisms
Always associated as commensal with black corals (Anthipates spp.), on which it is perfectly camouflaged.
