Bennett's toby

Scientific name : Canthigaster bennetti


Variably coloured toby, with brown back in reef areas, greenish in seagrass beds. Sides are light. Typical colour pattern on the snout, with red edged blue lines. Red and blue spots scattered on all the body. A false eye below dorsal fin. 10 cm. Even if the colour can be variable, the red spots distinguish this species from both Canthigaster compressa and Canthigaster epilampra.


Habitat: Back reef, Coastal bay, Lagoon, Reef front

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
