Bearded file fish

Scientific name : Anacanthus barbatus

Very strange file fish, elongated shape, longitudinal brown stripes, with an articulated barbel on the chin. 35 cm. It can not be confounded, when we understand that it is a file fish. At a first sight in fact it could be seen as a pipe fish or a ghost pipe fish. If observed carefully, the moving dorsal and anal fins, the back spine and the ventral fins that can be opened like a fan are useful diagnostics.

Associated organisms
Often with seagrasses and mangroves.
