Barramundi, Humpback grouper

Scientific name : Cromileptes altivelis


A quite big fish (maximum length: 70,0 cm), with a very high back. The background color is white in juveniles, but darkens in adults. It shows many balck dots on the whole body and fins.
it generally inhabits lagoons and seaward reefs. Also found around coral reefs and tide pools. It grows very slowly, feeding on small fish and crustaceans.


Habitat: Coastal bay, Deep reef, Lagoon

Distribution: Western Pacific
