Atlantic Nurse shark

Scientific name : Ginglymostoma cirratum


Colour from brown-grey to grey. Large pectoral and first dorsal fins, long tail. Very small eyes, two barbel on the snout. Often found resting during the day on the sand, in cracks or caves. It is a nocturnal predator. Ovoviviparous.


Habitat: Caves and overhangs, Coastal bay, Estuaries, Lagoon, Reef, Sand

Distribution: Atlantic Ocean
