Aplydium spp.

Scientific name : Aplydium spp.


Aplydium species, very difficult to identify from each other, form massive sub spherical colonies, un to 10 cm of diameter. The zooids are grouped in regularly distributed rings.
Aplydium colonies can resemble to sponges. Amongst the compound ascidians, they are similar to some Botryllus species, the latter usually being more colorful.


Habitat: Reef

Distribution: Indo-Pacific
