Ambon scorpion fish
Scientific name : Pteroidichthys amboinensis
Species with compressed body, with many skin flaps giving the appearence of an algal tuft. Prominent mustaches and antennae over the eyes. The flaps are smoother in the female, more branching in the male. Variable colour (brown, yellow, green, red). 8 cm. Normally in pairs, the female larger. The compressed shape and the many skin flaps make this species easy to identify. Other good diagnostics are the mustaches and the curved antennae.
