Spine cheek anemone fish
Scientific name : Premnas biaculeatus
Bright orange male, the large female becomes dark red or brown. Three narrow white bands, in the larger females can turn to grey. A prominent backward spine on the gills operculum. 16 cm. The 3 bands are a common charachter with Amphiprion clarkii and Amphiprion ocellaris, both have larger bands and no spines on the operculum. Particularly the larger females are quite aggressive.
Associated organisms Obligate association with the anemone Entacmaea quadricolor.
