Pink anemone fish
Scientific name : Amphiprion perideraion
Pink colour, sometimes pinkish orange. Narrow white stripe along the back, from between the eyes along the basis of the dorsal fin. Thin white bar on the gills operculum. 10 cm. A. nigripes (Indian Ocean) has black ventral and anal fins. A. leucokranos (Melanesia) has wider dorsal stripe and bars. Amphiprion sandaracinos and A. akallopisos have no vertical bars. This is a shy species, when disturbed normally it dive into the anemone, seldom attacks.
Associated organisms Living in obligate symbiosis with the sea anemones Heteractis magnifica, Heteractis crispa, Macrodactyla doreensis, Stichodactyla gigantea.
