Pinnigorgia
Scientific name : Pinnigorgia
Bushy colonies, densely branched. The main branch gives off many side branches arising more or less at right angle. Those can be ordered on 2 rows, like a plume, or on many rows in a bottle-brush like structure. Small, retractile polyps. Beige colour. 70 cm. The pinnate colony shape is unique. Sometimes called Plexaura or Lophogorgia.
Associated organisms With symbiotic zooxanthellae.
