White octopus

Scientific name : Octopus cf. aculeatus

Small, whitish grey octopus, with blackish shades. Two dorsal white spots are visible in many colour displays. Body 6 cm, tentacles 30 cm. Octopus aculeatus belongs to the Octopus horridus species complex, together with few small octopuses living on sandy bottoms, often in the tidal zone. Many species are very poorly known and still undescribed. Our identification is not 100% positive, being this a rare species also in our area.
