Bluespotted ribbontail ray

Scientific name : Taeniura lymma


Flat and oval disc, wth blue spots and two long blue stripes on its tail. White ventral surface and bulging eyes.
It's a nocturnal predator which feeds on the bottom on small fish, worms and crustaceans. It's one of the most abundant stingrays in the Indopacific area.
It shows two stings at the end of its tail, while most of the other stingrays have only one at the base.


Habitat: Coastal bay, Lagoon, Reef, Sand, Seagrass beds

Distribution: Indo-Pacific, Red sea
