High crest triplefin
Scientific name : Enneapterygius pusillus
Small bottom fish, thin and long body, triangular head with long snout and prominent eyes. Marbled brown colour. Three dorsal fins, the first, taller, is moved side to side above the head. 3 cm. At a first glance confusion is possible with a goby or a dragonet (due to the shape of the head). The 3 dorsal fins identify it as a triplefin. Many very similar Enneapterygius species are surely to be described (ex. Enneapterygius sp.)
Associated organisms Often found on large coral colonies.
